working stiff
Had a great fight practice yesterday, even considering that I'm still recovering from the plague. Got lots of sparring in with a variety of people (including my Don. Yeah, I know - weird), with happy results. Apparently 5 months of running on crazy, broken, pothole-ridden concrete has helped crystallize the stuff I was working on (mostly footwork) before I left, to the point where I can stop concentrating on it so much and move on. So good news - I've finally managed to "get" the crazy Morozzo-esque dancing around that best suits my abilities! Or at least "get" it to the point where I can stop thinking so hard about it. The bad news (of course there's bad news) - I get something new to work on for the next 6 months! Luckily, it's something I can do without a rapier, as long as I'm okay with looking like a dork in public. (short answer: yes) Damn, I hate not being able to practice properly in Grenada - there's nothing worse than coming home and getting your ass kicked by all and/or sundry.
In other news, I have a few days worth of work doing filing and building and odd jobs around the office of the company I worked for last year. Dull, yes, but I can listen to my ipod and dance around and sing my little heart out while I'm doing it, and it'll net me a few hundred dollars to pay for the next couple of weeks, so I'm happy with it.
